What is Team252?

Team252 is a mission experience organized by the Youth Pastors Coalition that serves the greater Rocky Mount, NC area. The mission of Team252 is reconcile, restore, and reach. The focus of the week long experience is to reconcile man to God and people to people, restore the local church to the local community, all while reaching and serving those in need.

Reconcile People to God

  • The Gospel is the foundation of everything we do.  We believe that Jesus is the only way to have relationship with God so we share the Gospel through evangelism, teaching, and living out the effects of gospel-changed hearts!
  • Matthew 28 Great Commission
  • II Corinthians 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Reconcile People to People

  • One of the joys of Team252 is that we knock down social and racial barriers in order to learn about each other, serve together, love one another. We are committed to ensure that students don’t have to struggle with the sins of past generations by helping them navigate conversations and activities that shed light on racial tensions so that Jesus and the gospel can shine through. We are naturally inclined to ourselves and our perspectives but Jesus calls us beyond ourselves in order to be a part of a united Body of Believers.
  • Ephesians 2:14-16“For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.”
  • Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Restore relationship between local Church and Community

  • Relationship works best when there is relevance and connectivity.  We want to make sure that believers are not disconnected from those around them. Every gathering body should have hands and hearts in the community.  We will work to make sure that the purpose of the Church is fulfilled through practical relationship development.

Reach and serving those in need

  • Jesus came to save the world.  While teaching and establishing relationships with people, he was intentional about meeting physical needs ranging from healings to feeding. We want to be like Jesus by intentionally serving people and organizations with things ranging from social development to service projects!  We want to be His hands and feet in the world!
  • Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Scripture Focuses

  • Ephesians 2:14-16
  • 2 Corinthians 5:14-21
  • John 5
  • Proverbs 28:13
  • Ephesians 4:31-32
  • Matthew 5:23-25

Where do you serve?

Sites vary from year-to-year, but in the past we have served the Bassett Center, Peacemakers, Nash Rocky Mount Public Schools, Happy Hill Neighborhood, Ripple Effects, and other locations. The sites may include manual labor, VBS style outreach, cleaning, praying for others, playing with children, talking with the elderly, etc.

Students will be assigned work sites at registration. Based off the mission needs and the student inventory on the registration form, the Youth Pastors Coalition has prayerfully placed students at work sites. Our goal is to form unity among the students and chaperones in their community, and serve the community.

What about accommodations?

Overnight accommodations are provided by First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. Meals are included in registration cost. Showers are available on site at First Baptist Church. First Baptist is located at 200 S Church St, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
